NATIONAL POLICES

The implementation of the new National Oncology Strategy 2020-30 aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of cancer care in Poland. The strategy plans to introduce publicly funded research programs for screening in high-risk groups and ensure early detection of prostate cancer. In addition, the Cancer Control Strategy for Poland (2015-2024) mentions prostate cancer specifically.

CLINICAL GUIDELINES

In 2019, Poland also introduced an organisational model for diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer to improve equal access of patients to cancer care and to address unmet needs of patients. The recommended care pathway is in line with EU guidelines and includes patient access to*:

Review by a multidisciplinary team
Support from a specialist nurse
Holistic needs assessment
A tailored treatment plan
