On 5 December, Let’s Talk Prostate Cancer organised the event “Uniting for Prostate Cancer: Advancing Screening and Care in the EU,” at the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Romana Jerkovic. The event brought together European Union (EU) policymakers, patient advocates, healthcare authorities, and key stakeholders to discuss the importance of early screening and detection of prostate cancer in the EU.
Speakers shared insights on the EU’s progress and ongoing challenges, while patients and advocates highlighted the psychological side of prostate cancer treatment. Representatives from the European Commission, cancer organisations, and regional authorities from Italy, Spain, and the Czech Republic discussed policy cooperation and best practices for screening programs.
Key opinion leaders from the European Association of Urology (EAU), the European Cancer Organisation (ECO), and All.Can International shared their hopes for the future mandate.
