MORTALITY
In Italy, the estimated mortality for prostate cancer is 22.9 per 100,000 population and considerably lower than the EU27 average of 32.1 per 100,000 population.1 This makes Italy’s prostate cancer mortality rate one of the lowest in the EU.

SURVIVAL
Italy’s five-year prostate cancer survival rate has improved significantly over recent years from 79.1% in 1995-99 to 89.5% in 2010-14.1 However, there is still a gap to close to reach the best achieving European countries with Cyprus achieving 99.2% five-year prostate cancer survival rate.1
